About the workplace and organization

Mellerud and Bengtsfors collaborate in the social sector to solve future competence supply and secure the development work of social services! The municipalities have a common governance and management of the social area. The social area for Mellerud and Bengtsfors is led by a social manager and is divided into five operational areas; individual and family care, housing care, care and support (LSS and social psychiatry), and support and administration. Through collaboration, opportunities are created to share both managerial positions and specialist competencies in a way that is beneficial for both municipalities. There is great benefit in the collaboration as many issues related to quality development and quality management systems are similar in the municipalities, especially at an overarching level. Mellerud Municipality is now seeking a 1st social worker for the Work and Integration Unit. The Work and Integration Unit handles cases related to financial assistance, estate management, budget and debt counseling, social contracts, integration, and labor market measures. We have a collaboration agreement with all five municipalities in Dalsland regarding budget and debt counseling as well as estate management. The unit receives applications, conducts investigations and assessments, and makes decisions regarding possible assistance. Assistance can be, for example, financial assistance or a social rental contract. Assistance in the form of a housing social contract is time-limited and is followed up regularly. Regarding financial assistance, an action plan is established that is regularly followed up and must be adhered to by the individual to be eligible for financial assistance. Individuals who have difficulties entering the labor market can receive internships and work with wage support to eventually become self-sufficient. Individuals who are far from the labor market can receive employment placements and work training. The entire unit employs 15 staff members. Job responsibilities
As a 1st social worker, you will provide support and guidance to both new and experienced social workers in their daily work. The main task for the 1st social worker is to provide case supervision and method guidance, both individually and in groups. The assignment includes staying updated on new research, legislation, and directives, as well as being responsible for implementing this in everyday operational work. You will be involved in creating and maintaining routines and functioning processes in daily work. In close collaboration with the unit manager, you will follow up on the unit's goals and results and drive the unit's development forward.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker or has equivalent education and has experience in public authority exercise within social services. You therefore have very good knowledge of current legislation and case handling. We also want you to have previous experience in driving quality work. It is an advantage if you have experience in collaboration with both internal and external parties and are accustomed to speaking in front of and conveying messages to groups.

The position of first social worker also requires that you have a good ability to plan, prioritize, and follow up on your work and ensure that tasks are completed and feedback is provided in a timely manner. You are communicative, clear, attentive, and humble in your role, and have the ability to formulate information or messages so that everyone understands. Furthermore, you are secure and stable in yourself and in your work. You maintain calm and have the ability to keep the right focus even in pressured and complex situations. As a person, we see that you have a good ability to coach, motivate, and challenge employees to develop in their work. Furthermore, we also see that you easily adapt to different people and situations, and that you can meet each employee at their level and according to their needs for support and guidance in their work. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. A driving license for a manual car is a requirement.
